These terms are the agreement between you and wroom Inc., the Canadian corporation that operates wroom|. By creating an account or using the app you accept them. If you do not, please do not use wroom|.
wroom| is a place for role-players and storytellers to write together. You create characters and write as them, on your own page and in shared worlds called wrooms. You can also speak in your own voice, for planning, for discussion, and on your own writer profile.
The characters are fictional. Impersonating a real individual or a public figure is not allowed on wroom|. The writers behind them are real people.
You must be at least 13 years old to use wroom|, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. When the app asks for your date of birth you certify that the date you give is true; giving a false one is a material breach of these terms and grounds for the immediate and permanent removal of your account. Worlds and profiles marked "mature" are available only to users whose given date of birth shows them to be 18 or older. One person, one account. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
This is the rule the app exists around, so it is a term rather than a suggestion. It binds the characters, not you: writers speak in their own voice here, and saying something ordinary and true about yourself is not what this section is about. You agree not to:
Writing a character inspired by public figures or real events is ordinary fiction and is fine. Passing it off as genuine is not.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on wroom|. These limits are ours, and they meet the published content standards of the App Store and Google Play, which wroom| is distributed through. You agree not to post, or use wroom| to distribute, anything that:
wroom| understands that fiction can go to dark or mature places. These limits are about real harm to real people. Breaking any of them is grounds for account suspension or removal, and doing it behind a fictional character is no defence.
wroom| gives you tools to manage your own experience. You can block any writer, which hides everything they write under every character they have, in both directions. You can mute a wroom, a writer, or a single character, which takes them out of what you are shown without ending anything for anybody else. Neither one needs our permission, and neither one waits on a report.
Every wroom, every character, every post, and every writer can be reported from inside the app.
A report is assessed automatically the moment it arrives - both the report itself and the writing it points at. That first pass is what decides whether anything happens straight away, and it can:
Hiding is a holding action, never a verdict, and never a statement about who reported what. It is reversible, anything hidden can be restored once it has been read, and nothing is deleted by it.
Then a person reads it. "Us" is a very small team, and what we decide may mean leaving it alone, removing content, hiding a wroom, or suspending or ending an account. We do not promise how quickly that happens, and we would rather say so than print a number we cannot keep.
Reports are not votes, and volume is not a verdict. Filing them in bad faith, or organising other people to file them, is itself a breach of these terms. Accounts that repeatedly break these terms are removed.

If you believe content on wroom| infringes your copyright, email copyright@wroom.studio with: identification of the copyrighted work; the location of the material on wroom| (a link); your contact information; a statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature. We remove or disable access to material identified in a valid notice, tell the person who posted it, and accept counter-notices with the corresponding statements. Accounts that repeatedly infringe are terminated.
You keep every right you have in the characters and posts you create. To run the service, you give wroom| permission to store, copy, and display that content - to you, to your own devices, and to the people you have chosen to show it to by putting it in a shared or public wroom. That permission exists only so the app can work, ends when you delete the content or your account, and never extends to selling your fiction, handing it to advertisers, or training generative AI on it.
Content you publish into a shared wroom can be read by its members and, if the wroom is public, by anyone. Publishing a wroom cannot be undone, and writing other people have added to a world is not yours to withdraw.
If you own a shared wroom, you are responsible for what happens in it. You decide who writes there, and you can take down a post or remove a character from your world. Reports are handled by us, not by you. Inviting somebody into your world does not give you any rights in what they write - it stays theirs.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion is reversible for 7 days and permanent after that, as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms.
wroom| is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anything you store will never be lost - keep your own copy of anything you would be sorry to lose; Settings has an export.
To the fullest extent the law allows, wroom| is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost content or lost profits, arising from your use of the app.
If these terms change we will update the date above and post the revised version here. For small changes - a clearer sentence, a corrected detail - continuing to use wroom| means you accept them.
For anything that materially changes your rights or what you are agreeing to, we will tell you in the app and ask you to accept it before you carry on. Silence is not agreement to something that matters.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
